Home safety & recovery

Use walking frame (and knee brace). Watch for weakness; don’t over-exert but keep active. High protein / high energy diet. Stay hydrated. Rivastigmine patch stopped (off since hospital) — GP noted possible low blood sugar + dehydration link to drowsiness; neurologist to review.

Current Status • 28 July 2026

GP review 27 July 2026 (Dr Bruce Wakefield). Blood tests fine. NCS report from Dr Neil Simon still being chased. Thigh-weakness pathway may be the wrong track until that report. Bruce suggested the rivastigmine (dementia) patch may contribute to drowsiness if it lowers blood sugar, especially with dehydration — off the patch since last hospital stay; remain off. Neurology: GP referral to Dr Rowena Mobbs (Harbour Neurology); she is booked out for the rest of 2026, so soonest slot is with colleague Dr Christopher Kline — 9 September 2026, 11:00am (same practice). Geriatrician Dr Beasley cancelled. Booked: melanoma excision 13 Aug NBH (Dr Shane O'Neill); cardiologist Dr Linda Lin 1 Sep 2026 2:00pm (Mona Vale, same day as Sue). Optional panadol for knee. Mobility: walking frame.
